teamLab Forest Ticket, 1 to 2 hours, rated 3.8 across 14 traveller reviews.
teamLab Forest Fukuoka is an interactive digital art space where projected forests, animals and light displays react to how you move. The ticket covers entry for a visit of roughly 1 to 2 hours. One of the signature activities has you pointing at and capturing digital animals with an app, and a reviewer who had visited teamLab spaces in Tokyo said the animal theme would likely have been their children's favourite of them all. The venue is smaller than teamLab's Tokyo locations and leans toward younger visitors, though adults without children also reviewed it positively. It suits families, friends and solo visitors who want an active, playful museum rather than a walk-and-look gallery. The final exhibit, which produces a personalised computer image, was called the best part by one reviewer.
The ticket includes admission only. Personal expenses are not covered, and eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed inside the exhibition. The venue is wheelchair and pushchair accessible, and it sits near public transportation. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian aged 20 or above, with one guardian able to bring up to three children, and accompanying adults need their own tickets. You can book either a morning window from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM or an afternoon window from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and the operator assigns a specific time slot within the window you choose.
A few practical points will help you plan the visit, drawn from the listing and from what travellers have reported.
Common issues. The venue is smaller and less extensive than teamLab's Tokyo locations, which several reviewers pointed out, and the opening animal-capture app did not work well for at least one of them. Some exhibits may be temporarily closed for maintenance, and one reviewer reported a last-minute cancellation notice even though the venue appeared to remain open, so keep an eye on your booking confirmation. The listing also advises that the experience is not recommended for travellers with back problems.
